Matthew is a founding member of Victoria's Theatre SKAM and serves as the innovative company's Artistic Producer. He has played numerous roles in SKAM's 17-year history, including Louis (and sometimes Dave) in Louis and Dave, as well as Hamlet, Macbeth, and others in The Complete Works of William Shakespear (abridged). He recently directed Smalltown: A Pickup Musical and wrote and performed in Cariboo Buckaroo.

Matthew trained at Malaspina College and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Victoria. In the summer of 2010, he completed a Director's Master Class with training from Peter Hinton, Martha Henry and Josette Bushnell-Mingo. In 2011 he studied with Jillian Keily at an intensive in choral work.

Previously he taught  for Kaleidoscope Performing Arts School, Kate Rubin Theatre and Drama Studio, and ArtsReach.
